All Norwegian citizens must obtain a visa before entering China. The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Norway has started using China Online Visa Application (COVA) system and collecting fingerprints from visa applicants from 1 July 2018 and 22 October 2018 respectively excluding those mentioned as below:
1. Applicants who are under 14 or over 70 years of age;
2. Applicants who lost all ten fingers or whose all ten fingerprints cannot be collected.
3. Applicants exempted from fingerprints collection according to bilateral reciprocal arrangement; Applicants’ fingerprints will be stored for five years. Applicants who have completed fingerprints collection and applied for Chinese visas within 5 years at the Embassy with the same passport will not have to get their fingerprints collected again.
All applicants are required to complete the COVA form (https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn) and make appointments (https://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn) online first, print out the completed COVA form together with the confirmation page and sign them. Along with other required documents, the COVA form and the confirmation page should be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy for visa applications on the exact appointment date.
