Ambassador Katja Christina Nordgaard
Katja Christina Nordgaard is Norway’s Ambassador to Thailand and Cambodia.
Ms Nordgaard is an economist from the Norwegian School of Business and Administration (NHH) and started working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1988.
She has since then held various positions within the Ministry and been posted to London and Pretoria. In addition, she has worked at the Prime Minister’s Office, The Norwegian Shipowners’ Association as well as for private sector companies like Scatec Solar.
From 2004 to 2010 she was Deputy Director General and deputy in the Regional Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, before becoming Ambassador to Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia in 2010. From 2010 to 2013, as Norway’s Ambassador to Myanmar, Ms. Nordgaard played a central role working towards normalisation of the bilateral relations with Myanmar.
